    It seems like every time you turn your head, everyone is busy looking for effective and time-tested tips on how to coach soccer? This is even more important with respect to soccer coaching because keeping the players motivated all the time is a lot tougher than it seems.

    I wish to give to you 5 easy yet effective tips that have the potential to better your team’s performance with time.

    1.   Make elaborate plans: To become a successful coach, you need to plan carefully and systematically. Plan meetings with the players before you finalize the team goals and objectives, and take their viewpoints also into consideration. Results not achieved within the decided timelines can disrupt your progress.

    Once the plan is finalized, remain loyal to it but do keep some space for minor changes as and when required. There are unanticipated situations that require changes in even well made plans.

    2. Make your practice sessions fun-filled and exciting: Even the best designed soccer training drills fail to produce any results when they are rigid, monotonous, and devoid of any fun and games. You can introduce these in a variety of ways. For example, after the practice session is over, divide them into small groups and introduce fun games that not only relax their mind but also promote team spirit among them.

    3.Discipline and freedom go hand-in-hand: As a coach, maintaining discipline should be your top priority. Still, the easiest way to encourage kids to obey rules and be disciplined is that they should be freed from unnecessary control. Don’t underestimate the value of freedom and relaxation in teaching soccer.

    Allow time to players in between drills to do their own things, simply relax, or share stuff among them. In preaching how to coach soccer, it is also extremely important to venture out with the kids on a picnic or an outdoor get together.

    4. Be Supportive and tolerant: Always inspire the team to experiment on new things and when they make mistakes, be tolerant. Keep scrutinizing their activities. At times, if the mistake is grave, take action to correct it but without making the kids pay for it.

    Remember that punishment inculcates in players, a feeling of rejection while being compassionate and encouraging generates great ideas and performances.

    5.The balancing act: Training sessions are the best places to recognize player’s talent and develop soccer skills in them. It is accepted that all the players in a team are different ranging from the best to the worst. It becomes your responsibility as a coach to make the best use of your good players in inspiring others.

    Buddy your best players with the weak ones so that they play together and share tips even after the drills. It is crucial that you do not make any sort of comparison between the players ever.

    It must now be your aim to use these techniques in your training sessions to improve the strategies about how to coach soccer.
