    Lawn and Garden Care Tips

    Nothing feels quite as good as the feeling of walking barefoot on nice, lush green grass.Whether it is for romping, strolling, or simply enjoying you own bit of green earth, the lawn is an incomparable thing to have. If you don’t provide the proper care for your lawn though, how can it possibly survive?

    Good news~Excellent news}: Successful lawn and garden care can be executed by even the most inexperienced of wanna be gardeners. All you have to do is follow this simple lawn and garden care steps below and you’ll be pretty much guaranteed success:

    Step 1: Plan Your Lawn

    Setting up the plan for your lawn and garden care is a lot easier said than done. There are a lot of different things you need to consider, Least of which is how big you want your lawn and what shape will be. Knowing these two beforehand will help you determine the kind and extent of maintenance required and the watering needs of your lawn.

    Size: Be sure to measure your lawn area to get an estimate of how many square feet of coverage you need.

    Shape and Layout: Pick out  a layout for your lawn, one that will allow you to do your mowing without having to back up or stop. In addition, avoid sharp curves and corners and include borders in your layout in order to make mowing quicker.

    Step 2: Choose the Grass

    Being particular about the type of grass you choose is another important step in lawn and garden care You need to make sure that the lawn grass that you buy is compatible with the soil in the area that you live. You can find out what type of soil is in your region by going to your local extension office, and they will provide you with a guide of the different types of grass which grow in that region.

    After years of rendering lawn and garden, we have found out that some grasses, such as Kentucky bluegrass, fescue, and rye grass, prefer the cooler weather of the North.. Some species of grass though prefer hotter Southern climates, like the St. Augustine, Bermuda, and zoysia. If you are not entirely sure about your region, you may be safe with tall fescue which is known to grow in areas where regions merge.

    Step 3: Test the Soil

    Getting your soil tested is the next most important thing you can do for lawn and garden care. There are many different kinds of soil and each type may have different levels of acidity and nutrient content. You need to get the soil tested first in order to choose the correct type of fertilizer for it.

    After you perform the soil test, you need to correct it according to its needs. The use of  organic material is commonly recommended to raise the nutrient levels in your soil. On the other hand if you’re trying to achieving acid balance, and most lawn Gardens care specialists recommend using lime or sulfur to adjust the acidity. Just distribute a two to
    three in or five to eight cm bed of organic nutrient over the field and incorporate it to 6 to 9 inches or fifteen to 23 centimeters into the soil.

    Step 4: Install a Sprinkler System

    While grass does not need constant watering, water remains an essential component in its growth. As you can see now, having a sprinkler system is vitally important aspect of lawn of  garden care. This is especially significant if you live in an area where the growing season is naturally dry.
