Sony XBR 46HX900 3D Review:
This 3D TV is considered to be 3D ready as it will require the purchase of the 3D transmitter and Sony 3D active shutter glasses serately, the main point here to consider is that the transmitter will not be built into the box. The HX900 uses 240 Hz motion compensation technology, which is an important feature as it allows you to watch sports and action videos with smooth images. The 240Hz technology in addition plays a key role in keeping 3D content directed to the correct eye. In order to provide the best 3D image quality, Sony also promotes that their 3D video processor the Bravia Engine 3 uses advanced algorithms learned through Sony’s extensive experience with 3D technology.
XBR 46HX900 Display Review:
The Sony HX 900 has a LCD screen capable of 3D full HD resolution at 1080p (1920 x 1080p). In addition the display utilizes “OptiContrast” technology in the panel which is a Sony process of manufacturing the screen panel to minimize the reflection and refraction of both internal and external ligh in order to have superior black levels in bright environments. The Bravia HX900 also has LED backlighting and utilizes a process reffered to as intelligent dynamic LED backlighting. This LED backlighting system
is superior to prior systems in that it improves contrast and dynamic range by adjusting areas of the backlighting to specific areas of the image keeping detail in the dark area and driving brilliant brightness to light areas of the image. Another new feature to Sony which could prove very usefull is ambient sensor that automatically adjusts the HX900 color and brightness depending on light levels in the room.
XBR 46HX900 Connectivity Review:
Unlike the flagship LX900 the HX900 does not have a built in Wi-Fi for connectivity to broadband home networks, however an USB wireless LAN adapter can be purchased separately. When the TV is connected to the internet you will be able to use TV widgets which can be arranged in a customized screen to access and view services like Flickr photos, and Yahoo finance. USB connections will be present on the TV in order to view personal content such as videos and photos. In addition the HX900 3D TV has 4 HDMI 1.4 inputs,1 component input,1composite input, 1 component/composite selectable input and 1 PC input.
